Scores for the Robert Rumbelow commissioned work, "Soundscape for Organ and Percussion Ensemble," are currently being mailed.  They should be received between March 20-25.  Editing issues delayed this mailing.

August 1, 2008:  Deadline for CD entries

The following competitors have been selected to advance to the next round of the Jordan Competition.

The very high artistic level of the CD entries from these persons has led the judges and the administrators of the Jordan International Competition to decide to advance all of them directly to the Semi-Final round, which it has been decided will now be the next stage of the competition.

There is no need for the selection rounds in February of 2009.  The Semi-Final and Final rounds will take place from September 17 until 26, 2009, at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, USA.

In order of the arrival of their materials:

are advanced to the Semi-Final round.

Congratulations to these artists, and many thanks to everyone who entered the CD round of this competition.  There was much fine playing from many contestants.

THE JORDAN INTERNATIONAL ORGAN COMPETITION

 
 

Founded in 2001, the Jordan International Organ Competition is one of the premier competitions in the world, offering the largest First Place prize and significant other prizes. Competitors from around the globe compete via CD and live rounds, being judged by a panel of leading international concert organists and teachers, culminating in the Final Rounds, held in the visual and aural splendor of Legacy Hall at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, and featuring the renowned Jordan Concert Organ, Orgues LeTourneau, Opus 60. This event is made possible through the continuing generosity of the Jordan Family and the Jordan Foundation.

The LeTourneau Prize: $5,000.00, U.S. for the best performance of a commissioned work for Organ and Percussion Ensemble
